Todd & Sargent's leadership team has helped guide the company’s success in the engineering & construction services industry. We've grown from a focused family company into a value-added, single-source expert in a broad range of slipform concrete solutions. Our core executive team has come together from a variety of backgrounds to help Todd & Sargent grow in size and services. The result is a long list of clients with strong customer satisfaction and a diverse portfolio of successful projects.

Lee Sargent, P.E.

Chief Executive Officer

Lee Sargent provides overall strategic and corporate direction to Todd & Sargent. Lee is a member of Associated Builders & Contractors, American Feed Industry Association, National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, and serves on the National Fire Protection Association 61 Board. Lee graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He is also Chairman of The Sargent Group, Inc. Board of Directors. Lee has been with Todd & Sargent since 1970.

Jon Sargent

President

Jon Sargent is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing overall corporate strategies, goals, and policies for Todd & Sargent, as well as for the company’s administrative functions and corporate risk management. Jon is a member of the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS), Construction Management Association, and former board member of Associated Builders & Contractors of Iowa. Jon graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.B.A. in Finance and from the University of Chicago with an M.B.A. in Economics. He is also a member of The Sargent Group, Inc. Board of Directors. Jon has been with Todd & Sargent since 2010.

Steve Smith

Chief Operating Officer

Steve Smith is responsible for overall operational success at Todd & Sargent. His primary focus is on ensuring continued improvement of the company's business processes through communication, technology, and best practices. Steve graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Construction Engineering and from Arizona State University with a Master of Business Administration.

Paul Sondgeroth

Sr. Vice President - Operations

Paul Sondgeroth is responsible for overall management of field construction and project management for Todd & Sargent. Paul’s primary responsibility is management of all field superintendents and their staffs. Duties include project management, quality control assurance in slipform construction and millwright services, subcontractor negotiations/coordination, job cost accounting, project change orders and project scheduling. Paul is Past-President of Associated Builders & Contractors of Iowa, and has served as a member of ABC National Labor Committee and ABC National Planning & Futuring Committee. Paul has been with Todd & Sargent since 1975.

Pat Taggart

Vice President - Operations

Pat Taggart is responsible for field construction and project management at Todd & Sargent. Duties include project management, quality control assurance in slipform construction and millwright services, subcontractor negotiations/coordination, job cost accounting, project change orders, and project scheduling. He also oversees Todd & Sargent's Safety, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams. Pat has been with Todd & Sargent since 1983.

Bryan Coussens, P.E.

Vice President - Engineering

Bryan Coussens is responsible for all aspects of Todd & Sargent’s engineering function. Bryan manages Todd & Sargent’s team of engineers and drafters to meet our clients’ complex engineering needs. He provides structural, process, and value engineering for projects in the grain, feed, flour, biofuels, and specialty industries. Bryan also reviews projects for code requirements and compliance. Bryan is a member of the American Concrete Institute and the American Institute of Steel Construction. He graduated from Iowa State University with a B.A. in Civil Engineering. Bryan has been with Todd & Sargent since 1996.

Alex Kerrigan

Vice President - Project Development

Alex Kerrigan is responsible for business development and project development, serving clients in the grain, feed, flour milling, and specialty industries. He manages Todd & Sargent's sales, marketing, and estimating teams and oversees the company’s design development group. Alex works closely with each client’s team to develop successful facility designs and compile comprehensive and competitive cost estimates. Alex is a member of the American Feed Industry Association, Grain Elevator and Processing Society, International Association of Operative Millers, and National Grain and Feed Association. Alex graduated from Notre Dame University. Alex has been with Todd & Sargent since 2002.

James Bucher

Chief Financial Officer

James Bucher is responsible for Todd & Sargent's finance, accounting, and administrative functions.  He also manages the T&S accounting staff and oversees the annual audits of the company’s financial statements, benefits plans, and insurance programs.  James graduated from Iowa State University with a B.A. in Accounting and holds his Certified Public Accountant designation. James has been with Todd & Sargent since 2017.
